FAQ
How do I book my free trial lesson?
We try to make it easy! To book your free trial lesson, start by clicking one of the “Book your free trial†buttons located on this page. From there, you’ll be instructed to:
- Choose your instrument
- Choose your lesson date and time
- Fill in your name and contact information so we can send you your lesson information and virtual link.
That’s it!
How do Virtual Lessons work?
Lessons take place live on Zoom (using Original Sound for Musicians) with one of our professional instructors. You’ll meet weekly at your scheduled time, just like an in-person lesson—except from the comfort of your home. Teachers guide you step-by-step, give real-time feedback, and assign personalized practice.
Are Virtual Lesson actuall effective?
Yes, and in many cases, more effective than in-person lessons.
Students stay more consistent (no driving), lessons are easier to attend, and we can share music, exercises, and recordings instantly. Most importantly, you still get real-time coaching from an experienced teacher—that’s what makes the difference.
What equipment do I need?
Very simple setup:
- Laptop or desktop (strongly recommended)
- Internet connection
- Your instrument
- Optional: headphones for better sound
We’ll walk you through Zoom setup so you sound great from day one.
What happens after I book my free trial lesson?
Once you book your free lesson, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your lesson details, Zoom link, and teacher information. From there, our Scheduling Coordinator will personally reach out to walk you through the setup and make sure everything is ready for a smooth, successful first lesson.
Which instruments can I learn?
We offer virtual lessons in a wide range of instruments, including:
- Voice
- Piano
- Guitar and ukulele
- Electric bass
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Euphonium and tuba
- Percussion and drumset
If you don’t see your instrument listed, just reach out! Our team is always growing, and we’ll do our best to match you with the right teacher.
Do you offer voice lessons?
Absolutely! We work with singers of all levels, from complete beginners to more experienced vocalists. Our teachers help you build technique, expand your range, and feel confident using your voice, all in a comfortable and encouraging environment.
Can I reschedule if something comes up?
Yes. As long as you give at least 24 hours notice, we’ll work with you to reschedule.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No long-term contracts. You pay as you go, so you can stay flexible.
How much do lessons cost?
$65/hour. You can take lessons in 30 or 60 minute sessions.
What will I learn in lessons? What is the structure?
It’s all about you.
We don’t follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Your teacher will build lessons around your goals—whether that’s playing your favorite songs, improving your technique, or just feeling more confident.
Most lessons include a mix of:
- Playing music you enjoy
- Learning new skills step by step
- Helpful feedback so you know exactly what to work on
- A simple plan for the week ahead
It’s structured enough to make progress—but flexible enough to keep it fun.
